Duan Jianjun has been appointed as the new president and CEO of Volvo Cars Greater China

On May 11, Volvo Cars announced the latest appointment of its Greater China management. Duan Jianjun was appointed as the new president and CEO of Volvo Cars Greater China, joining the Group's global core management and global sales management, and reporting to the China Board of Directors. Volvo officials said that Duan Jianjun will immediately assume full control of the end-to-end business in Greater China and be responsible for the overall industrial and commercial operations (R&D, supply and marketing) of the entire value chain. According to Duan Jianjun's public information, Duan Jianjun began his career in the commercial office of Fiat (China) in the late 1990s. After 2003, he moved to Volkswagen China and joined BMW Brilliance in 2008 as vice president of sales. In 2013, he joined Beijing Mercedes-Benz Sales Service Co., Ltd., and served as executive vice president of sales and marketing, chief operating officer of sales and marketing. He became president and CEO in May 2023. He has nearly 30 years of experience in the automotive industry and has held senior management positions in a number of multinational companies. It is worth mentioning that the relationship between Duan Jianjun and Volvo Cars can be traced back to more than 30 years ago, when he worked for Volvo Cars as a maintenance technician. After working at Volvo Cars for 16 years, Yuan Xiaolin, President and CEO of Volvo Cars Greater China, decided to step down from the day-to-day management of the company and will support a smooth transition of management for some time to come. Yuan Xiaolin joined the company as head of M&A during Geely's acquisition of Volvo Cars in 2010, and in 2017, he was named senior vice president of the Volvo Cars Group worldwide, president and CEO of Asia Pacific, and joined the group's executive management team. Since then, he has served as President and CEO of Volvo Cars Greater China.
