The Leapmotor Lafa5 (parameters / inquiry) Ultra is scheduled to make its debut at the Auto Beijing exhibition on April 24. The new model will feature Leapmotor’s official sports modification kit, delivering stronger performance compared to the current version. Positioned as a compact pure electric vehicle, it boasts a host of upgraded design and functional elements.
Exterior Design
Based on the standard Lafa5, the Ultra edition adds several aerodynamic components, including a front splitter, wind wing side skirts, a rear diffuser, and a sporty rear spoiler. Additionally, the vehicle's ride height is lowered from 1520mm to 1510mm, enhancing its sporty stance.
It introduces a matte gungray logo and letter emblem, paired with three exclusive new color options for the Ultra series: Swift Yellow, Starburst Green, and Liquid Silver. The model is equipped with 19-inch alloy wheels as standard.
Interior Features
The interior retains the design language of the current model but with exclusive luxury touches. The seats feature custom embroidery, while the seat belts, coordinated with the car's body color, are printed with the "Ultra" logo.
The front row is equipped with 8-point massage seats (featuring 3 layers of airbags) that also offer ventilation and heating functions. A heated steering wheel is available as an option. The cabin features over 80% soft-touch coverage, with large areas of suede material enhancing the premium feel.
The dashboard combines an 8.8-inch full LCD instrument cluster with a 14.6-inch central control screen, powered by the Snapdragon 8295P cockpit chip. Other amenities include automatic climate control, the DeepSeek + Tongyi Qianwen AI voice assistant, and 50W wireless phone charging.
Powertrain & Battery
According to declaration documents, the Lafa5 Ultra will be powered by a 180kW motor, paired with a lithium iron phosphate battery supplied by Gotion High-Tech.
The current Lafa5 lineup features rear-wheel drive. The base model is equipped with a 132kW motor, accelerating from 0 to 100km/h in 8.7 seconds. Other versions use a 160kW motor, achieving 0-100km/h acceleration in 6.4 and 6.5 seconds respectively.
For battery options, the current Leapmotor Lafa5 offers 56.2kWh and 67.1kWh variants, corresponding to a CLTC pure electric driving range of 515km and 605km respectively.
