New Sport Kit Added / Improved Off-Road Capability: Official Filing Images of the New WEY Taishan Variant

On April 11, we obtained the application drawings for the new version of the medium-to-large MPV – the WEY Tank High Mountain (WEY Gao Shan) – from the latest MIIT filing.** Built upon the current High Mountain 7 model, this new version primarily features modified approach and departure angles, a raised chassis height, and a more personalized exterior sport package. **Friendly Reminder:** If you have new car spy shots or news leaks, please click the editor's avatar (App only) to send us a private message. **In terms of exterior design**, maintaining the current style, the classic "High Mountain and Flowing Water" aesthetic ensures strong recognizability. Details include a large shield-shaped front grille with straight vertical chrome bars inside, paired with slender headlights on both sides, exuding a sense of refinement. On the side, the vehicle features flat and elegant lines, a design that helps maximize interior passenger space. At the rear, the vehicle adopts the High Mountain family's full-width taillight design, featuring three vertical light elements on each side. The rear bumper is also accented with metal chrome strips, continuing the car's refined aesthetic. It is worth noting that, as a new version, it features subtle adjustments to the exhaust pipe decorations and adds a rear diffuser, appropriately enhancing the vehicle's sporty appeal. **Notably, the official revealed that this new version of the High Mountain 7 is not merely a cosmetic or structural modification.** Instead, it involves a multi-dimensional recalibration of the vehicle's overall off-road capability, handling stability, and energy consumption control. Leveraging the advantages of sliding doors over large SUVs, it will offer enhanced scenario-based travel benefits for activities like camping and fishing during trips, thereby expanding the boundaries of family car usage scenarios. **Regarding the powertrain**, referencing the current High Mountain 7, it is equipped with a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 1.5T turbocharged four-cylinder engine and dual motors. The 1.5T dedicated hybrid engine integrates range-extending, parallel, and direct-drive modes, utilizing WEY's Hi4 intelligent four-wheel drive electric hybrid technology. The engine has a maximum power of 125 kW and a maximum torque of 245 N·m. The electric motors produce 80 kW (front) and 135 kW (rear). The system has a combined power of 337 kW and a combined torque of 644 N·m. The vehicle will be equipped with a 44.28 kWh ternary lithium battery pack, offering a WLTC pure electric range of 172 km and a WLTC combined range of 945 km. A 30-80% SOC charge takes 26 minutes, and it also provides a 3.3 kW external discharge function.
