Li Auto i6 Due October 28: Up to 780 km of Range and a 29-Inch 6K Panoramic Screen
The 2026 Li Auto i6 will be officially launched on October 28th and delivery will begin in early November. As Li Auto's first fully electric SUV targeting the global market, the core upgrades of the new model include "lights, screens, seats, storage, chips, and range," with CLTC highest range extended to 780 kilometers and the first introduction of Li Auto's new "Lianshan" electric technology system.
Key Features: The new model adds two new exterior colours, Hyacinth Purple and Magnetic Blue, taking the palette to six - the basic metallic finishes Pearl White, Alien Silver and Black Warrior, plus the special cool-tone paints Cloud Yellow, Hyacinth Purple and Magnetic Blue. The manual front trunk is upgraded to a powered unit that opens, closes and soft-closes electrically, and can be triggered by tapping or by voice. The exterior details have also been optimized, with the front bumper design matching that of Li Auto's other models, such as Li Auto L9 and Li Auto i9, and maintaining the brand's family design.
The new Li Auto i6 also features a 29-inch 6K panoramic screen and a high-performance Qualcomm Snapdragon 8797 in-cabin chip. The interior design is consistent with Li Auto's latest style, featuring the 29-inch 6K panoramic screen, with the in-cabin chip upgraded from Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P to the high-performance Qualcomm Snapdragon 8797. Additionally, the vehicle offers a new hand-car interface, supporting mainstream systems like CarPlay, HiCar, and CarLink. The overall interactive interface size has been increased, and the original car applications can still be used when using CarPlay, without interfering with each other.
The new Li Auto i6 also introduces a new "Li Xiang Tongxue" companion figure, currently offered as two cute physical dolls. Placing it on the NFC panel will synchronize interactive scenes on the center console screen, enhancing the playability with the cute physical image and animated interaction.
The new Li Auto i6 also features a native Insta360 connection function, providing a port for rearview mirror below and real-time display of the shooting scene on the in-car screen. The front seats are upgraded to Li Auto's zero gravity seats, supporting 150-degree recline, 18-point kneading massage, and four-way adjustable leg rests, with heating function available.
The second-row entertainment screen is upgraded to a 21-inch 4K screen, with a 140-degree recline angle and a comfortable leg rest. The Type-C fast charging port for the second-row is moved to the headrest, allows occupants to charge and use a phone while lying down without getting up. The rear footwell has also been reprofiled so taller passengers are not cramped even in zero-gravity mode, and the climate system has been upgraded to five zones, with foot-level temperature independently adjustable by voice.
The rear compartment's refrigerator door is upgraded to an electric opening, with a freezing function, and the upper control screen can choose the refrigerator mode and set corresponding temperatures based on the items placed.
The new Li Auto i6 uses its in-house Mach M100 assisted-driving chip delivering 1,280 TOPS, and the vehicle can optionally be fitted with two Mach M100 chips and a four-LiDAR setup delivering 2,560 TOPS. The battery is upgraded to the 5C lithium iron phosphate "Lianshan" battery, increasing the battery capacity from 87.3kWh to 96kWh, with a CLTC range of 780km for the rear-wheel drive version and 710km for the four-wheel drive version, compared to the old model, the range has increased by 60km and 50km.
The official charging data shows that charging for 10 minutes can add up to 500km of range.
Li Auto announced the "Lianshan Battery Assurance Plan," which includes two lifetime guarantees: first, if the self-developed battery causes a fire and the vehicle reaches the scrap standard, the customer will be compensated with a new vehicle of the same configuration; second, if the battery catches fire due to a collision or damage to the chassis, the insurance compensation will be supplemented to cover the difference between the insurance actual compensation and the actual loss.
Market Analysis: The 2026 Li Auto i6 is positioned as a 250,000 RMB mid-to-large SUV, targeting the market with Li Auto's mature family user system, advanced auxiliary driving, 800V 5C ultra-fast charging, and the "mobile home" cabin concept. It directly competes with the Tesla Model Y, the AITO M6, and the Xiaomi YU7, among other popular models.
In this price segment, various routes are clearly differentiated: Tesla relies on its stable sales performance as a long-term benchmark, AITO focuses on its driving ecosystem, and Xiaomi leverages its young and sporty image and ecosystem integration.
The new Li Auto i6 is a critical pillar for Li Auto's pure electric route.
From a brand perspective, it bears the task of bringing Li Auto's self-developed battery and driving technology to mass production and validation, further enriching the i series electric lineup.
With the launch of the new Li Auto i6, it will continue to squeeze the survival space of traditional luxury mid-to-large SUVs; at the same time, the market performance of the new Li Auto i6 will serve as a wind gauge for the acceptance of self-developed ultra-fast charging batteries in China, influencing the brand's investment rhythm in the 800V and self-developed battery routes in the future.
In conclusion, the new Li Auto i6 fills in many detail shortfalls, presenting a complete home electric solution in the 250,000 RMB pure electric SUV segment. If you value fast charging, spaciousness, and driving assistance, it is worth considering as a selection; if you prefer driving pleasure, there are other options in the same segment.
Do you think the new Li Auto i6 can continue to break through in this highly competitive segment? Let's wait for its official launch on October 28th.
