BMW iX7 Spy Shots Emerge With an All-New Cabin and Electrical System, Debut Expected in 2027
Recently, we obtained a set of BMW iX7 spy photos from related channels. While the exterior of this camouflage test car doesn't look much different from earlier leaked spy shots, it has now been spotted on the German Nürburgring circuit, undergoing testing for vehicle dynamic performance and durability.
The new model is expected to make its debut in 2027. BMW has not equipped the iX7 with the new-generation (Neue Klasse) electric platform; instead, it is based on the CLAR platform. The vehicle's exterior will not adopt the integrated closed front grille seen on the iX3 and iX5 this time around. It will continue to use the X7's split headlights design, which is also used on the recently updated BMW 7 Series.
Despite being based on the CLAR platform, the BMW iX7 will still feature the latest smart cabin and powertrain systems. It is expected to share motor configurations with the iX5, with a dual-motor version capable of up to 578 horsepower. A higher-performance version with the M badge is also expected in the future. Additionally, the BMW iX7 is expected to come with a larger battery capacity, potentially exceeding 110 kWh, which should offer promising long-range capabilities.
