Recently, Alpine released a preview of the concept car codenamed PS1 (Project Special 1). The new car is scheduled for the world premiere at the Paris Motor Show on October 12, and the iconic sunken hidden headlights are officially exposed. It is most likely a forward-looking prototype of the classic A310, positioned as a pure electric GT sports car with a 2 +2 layout. Unlike the traditional pop-up jump lights that flip outward, the PS1 uses sunken headlights: when extinguished, the cover plate is integrated with the engine cover and completely hidden; when opened, the cover plate sinks to the inside of the car body, revealing the LED lamp group with the red-white-blue color of the French flag. This structure can not only reproduce the charm of retro sports cars, but also avoid the pedestrian collision safety hazards of old-fashioned jumping lights, which meets the requirements of modern mass production regulations. From the announcement material, you can also see the wide-bodied eyebrows and electronic rearview mirrors. The whole vehicle has a low posture and focuses on aerodynamic performance. PS1 belongs to the Alpine product matrix and is positioned higher than the "special items" series of A290 and A390. In line with the brand's plans, Alpine is developing an all-electric GT sports car with a 2 +2 seat layout that pays tribute to the classic A310 of the 1970s and 1980s. It is highly likely that the PS1 concept car is a forward-looking work of this new car, which will be built on the Alpine Performance Platform, sharing the underlying hardware with the next-generation A110 sports car, and benchmarking the Porsche 911 in the future. In addition to the PS1 concept car, Alpine will also showcase the concept sculpture of the next-generation A110 at the Paris Motor Show, as well as Atelier Alpine premium custom versions A290 and A390, showcasing new paint and optional kits.
