Zhang Xinghai, chairman (founder) of Seres Group, stated at the 2026 World Intelligent Connected Vehicle Conference that the auto industry is transitioning from a simple manufacturer of transportation vehicles to a competition for smart mobile spaces. Only by securing safety, ensuring quality, and providing meticulous service, continuously innovating, and truly being responsible to users can car manufacturers ensure their long-term success. Zhang Xinghai emphasized that safety remains the top priority, a responsibility that must be unconditionally borne by car manufacturers. The second priority is usability, ensuring both quality and comprehensive lifecycle services to ensure users have a worry-free driving experience. The third priority is innovation, as cars are not commodities that can be consumed quickly. Car manufacturers need to innovate continuously, focusing on areas such as intelligent and AI technology, to introduce new features to new users and keep older vehicles fresh and relevant. Zhang Xinghai believes that the auto industry is a marathon, requiring patience and persistence, and that safety must be upheld and quality must be refined over time. This long-term approach is reflected in AITO’s commitment to "safety is the greatest luxury," which includes a comprehensive passive and active intelligent safety system defined by scenarios. This is supported by a digital quality management system built on a "super brain plus super factory" and a super lab, with clear quality control standards for every step and stringent qualification thresholds for each inspection point. In the era of autonomous driving, Zhang Xinghai acknowledged that the concept of safety is expanding and quality standards are evolving. SAIC is actively positioning itself in Level 3 and Level 4 high-level autonomous driving, while steadily advancing research and development and product deployment. Regarding the partnership with HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance), Zhang Xinghai stated that the AITO will firmly focus on the premium segment in the future, continuously driving cross-industry integration and optimization, fully leveraging HUAWEI's smart technology advantages and HIMA's business model strengths, to explore viable paths for higher-quality development, and achieve sustainable growth.
