New AITO M8 Configurations Revealed: Pre-Sale RMB 389,800-459,800, More Range, Launching November 13
Configuration details of the new AITO M8 have been revealed. The car was previously announced with a pre-sale price starting at RMB 389,800. A model-year update, it upgrades the exterior, interior and powertrain, and introduces an architecture that supports L3 autonomous driving along with Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 and a new-generation all-directional 3D fusion perception system. It goes on sale on November 13.
The brand has now published the full line-up, pre-sale prices and specifications. Three variants are offered.
The Max is priced at RMB 389,800 and comes with a panoramic triple-screen layout, a zero-gravity driver's seat (a limited-time gift), gesture-controlled vehicle functions, dual-valve continuously variable damping dampers with dual-chamber closed air suspension, and Huawei Qiankun ADS 5. The 21-inch 4K rear entertainment screen is optional.
The Max+ is priced at RMB 409,800 and adds a second-row right-side zero-gravity seat 3.0 on top of the Max, with optional rear-wheel steering, a zero-gravity passenger seat, electric doors, welcome pedals and the 21-inch 4K rear entertainment screen.
The Ultra is priced at RMB 459,800 and adds, over the Max+, ±8° rear-wheel steering, a zero-gravity passenger seat, a 25-speaker Huawei Yuezhang Excellence audio system, a 21-inch 4K eye-care soft-light rear entertainment screen, million-pixel projection headlights (on the range-extender) and electric doors. The pure-electric version can option the projection headlights.
The new AITO M8 adds two paint colours, Sky Canopy Cyan and Cangrong Green. An LED strip now sits below the full-width chrome trim on the nose, the cooling openings in the front bumper are larger, and the mesh inside changes from the previous horizontal chrome to a black honeycomb structure.
The front trunk of the rear-drive EV grows to 210L from 149L, and the underfloor boot compartment of the six-seat version grows to 63L from 39L. The door handles now meet the new national standard.
Dimensions are 5190/1999/1795mm with a 3105mm wheelbase, and the range gains one new 20-inch and two 21-inch wheel designs.
At the rear only the internal structure of the light source has been optimised, altering the lit signature.
Inside, two new cabin colourways join the range, Gravel Brown and Lanyue White. The front row uses the same full-width linked display as the AITO M9, now with slimmer bezels. A 17-metre ambient light strip runs through the cabin, integrated into the trim panels. The driver gets a ticket holder, the passenger a retractable hook, and the centre armrest box is larger and more neatly shaped. The onboard fridge cools down to -18°C.
Both five-seat and six-seat layouts are available. The diamond quilting on the seats is retained with a revised stitching pattern, and zero-gravity seats are fitted for the driver, the passenger and the rear-right occupant. The six-seat version's second row adds left-right sliding adjustment.
For driver assistance, the car carries four LiDARs, including one 896-line unit, and 38 sensors in total. It brings an architecture aimed at L3 autonomous driving, Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 and the WEWA 2.0 technical architecture.
On the powertrain side, the Max uses a 1.5T range-extender set-up with a single rear motor and a 56kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, and its electric range beats the outgoing car.
The Max+ range-extender uses a 1.5T range extender with dual-motor all-wheel drive and a 56kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, with a larger 75.4kWh ternary (NMC) battery available as an option; it also upgrades to an 800V high-voltage platform with 397kW of combined output. The Max+ EV is offered with single-motor rear drive or dual-motor all-wheel drive, the latter producing 387kW, and uses a 100kWh ternary battery as before, with an expected CLTC maximum range of 705km; a larger 120kWh ternary battery is optional for even more range.
The Ultra range-extender uses dual-motor all-wheel drive with a 56kWh lithium iron phosphate battery and an optional 75.4kWh ternary pack. The Ultra EV comes with single-motor rear drive or dual-motor all-wheel drive and a larger 120kWh ternary battery, with a CLTC electric range expected to reach 830km.
