National Energy Administration: As of April, the total number of electric vehicle charging facilities in China reached 21.955 million

On May 21, the National Energy Administration released the national electric vehicle charging facility data for April 2026. According to the data of the National Charging Facility Monitoring Service Platform, by the end of April 2026, the total number of electric vehicle charging infrastructure (guns) in China reached 21.955 million, an increase of 47.4% year-on-year. Among them, there were 4,907,000 public charging facilities (guns), an increase of 29.6% year-on-year, the total rated power of public charging piles reached 237 million kilowatts, with an average power of about 48.38 kilowatts; there were 17,048,000 private charging facilities (guns), an increase of 53.5% year-on-year, and the installed capacity of private charging facilities reached 149 million kilovolt-amperes.
