Recently, spy photos of the SAIC Volkswagen ID.ERA sedan have surfaced. The vehicle is covered with Volkswagen camouflage wrap, featuring the Volkswagen logo on the windshield. It comes with separate fuel filling port and charging port on both sides, plus visible exhaust pipes underneath the chassis. This indicates that, just like the ID.ERA 9X, this model will likely be a range-extended electric vehicle.

In terms of exterior, the ID.ERA sedan features a sporty coupe styling. Following the same design language as the ID.ERA 9X, it adopts split headlight layout, with a continuous daytime running light strip on top connected to the central Volkswagen emblem. The lower split lamp units integrate with air ducts, and the front bumper is fitted with air intake grilles. No LiDAR can be seen on the roof.
The vehicle boasts generous dimensions and a long wheelbase, positioning it as a mid-to-large sedan. It adopts semi-hidden door handles and large 5-spoke alloy wheels. The rear features a sleek fastback profile with a subtle ducktail spoiler, and taillights are expected to be full continuous design.
Referring to the ID.ERA 9X, this sedan will be built on an 800V high-voltage platform, equipped with an EA211 1.5T range extender. Its front and rear dual motors deliver a combined maximum power of 380kW, with a CLTC pure electric range of 406km. The ID.ERA sedan is expected to boast equally powerful performance. It adopts a multi-link independent rear suspension.
