Four Motors and "Three Locks": Hongqi G919 to Go on Sale on October 25!
Recently, we've received a new update that the Hongqi G919 will be officially launched on October 25th. The new car's launch will highlight "extreme challenges" and "hardcore" features, showcasing the vehicle's extreme performance capabilities during the event.
The new G919 has already started pre-sales, offering three variants priced from RMB 359,800 to RMB 439,800.
The G919 uses a body-on-frame structure with a range-extended powertrain, and is positioned as a mid-to-large SUV. Its body-on-frame design is optimised for off-road use, and it comes with a four-motor powertrain, front and rear mechanical differential locks and an energy centre lock.
New Car Introduction:
In terms of appearance, the new G919 adopts an Eastern Ritual Aesthetics design, with the body design drawing on the mortise-and-tenon joinery of traditional Chinese architecture. The body proportions are stable, while the Alpine Waterfall mortise-and-tenon grille expresses a new mechanical aesthetic. The rectangular full LED headlights align with the current trend of off-road SUV design, with the light cavities glowing to pay homage to the history of the brand's vehicles.
The new car offers six color options for users, including Shennong Green, Meiye Black, Mingsha Gold, Xingyao Grey, Danxia Orange and Xinghai Blue.
In terms of dimensions, the new car measures 5135mm x 2050mm x 1950mm, with a wheelbase of 2900mm.
The new car features extended wheel arches, black lower guards, a floating roof, and enhanced off-road aura, with all-terrain AT tires provided.
The rear of the vehicle features a side-hinged tailgate, with the side-mounted luggage compartment being a common design for off-road vehicles. The rear lights are vertically positioned.
The new car offers 20+ factory-installed modification interfaces, providing users with diverse modification potential.
A 384-line high-performance LiDAR sits on the roof. It debuts Hongqi Sinan Intelligent Driving 5.0 Max with the industry-first variable-field-of-view LiDAR technology, capable of 400 m ultra-long-range detection: in complex urban conditions the laser beam scan spreads horizontally for a wider field of view, and fuses with the front camera for very strong perception. It is also the first car with a satellite-architecture main LiDAR.
The ADAS runs smoothly on a Qualcomm 8650 chip, which meets the computing demand of end-to-end large-model real-time decision-making across all scenarios.
Additionally, the new car is equipped with an infrared night vision system, capable of detecting vehicles at a distance of 400m and pedestrians at 220m.
Inside, the vertical, angular theme continues, with a full-width "central axis" element recreating Beijing's Central Axis, exuding a grand and dignified atmosphere. The central area features a 17.3-inch floating touchscreen, with physical buttons retained.
The second-row entertainment screen is also 17.3 inches.
The entire smart cabin is driven by the high-performance Qualcomm flagship Snapdragon 8295P chip.
The new car is equipped with 18 speakers from Dynaudio, featuring a 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos system.
The central console features a joystick-like gear shift design, with symmetrical placement on the left and right sides.
The new car adopts a large five-seat design, with the passenger seat offering a legrest, and the rear seat back can be adjusted to 131°, featuring a cold and warm air-conditioned car refrigerator (with a temperature range of -6 to 50°C and a volume of 7.3L), as well as a small table, among other features. The seat heating and ventilation are not absent.
The new car features 41 storage compartments, with a rear cargo volume of 950L.
In terms of power, the new car is equipped with a 2.0T range-extender system paired with a four-motor setup, with a combined power of 620kW and a combined torque of 1320N·m, achieving a 0-100km/h acceleration of 4.5 seconds. The maximum pure electric range is 280km, with an overall range of 1350km.
The four-motor system independently controls torque and speed for each wheel, with dual-side reversible output. The independent differential control technology allows for a minimum turning radius of 5.3 meters, which shrinks to 2.5 metres with the Qixuan MAX stepless steering function, reducing it to 2.5 meters, enabling tricks such as pivot turns and differential steering. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with air suspension.
In terms of off-road capability, the The G919 comes with front and rear mechanical differential locks plus an energy centre lock. The four-motor control system includes eTVC vector control algorithms, enabling torque vectoring responses in milliseconds. The new car adopts a non-load-bearing professional off-road chassis, with a torsional stiffness of 9,500 N·m/degree, featuring high-strength steel and ultra-high strength steel with a proportion exceeding 90%. The passenger compartment is made of 100% hot-formed steel, effectively suppressing collision deformation structures.
The battery pack sits between the frame rails, with a reinforced underside, capable of withstanding 1500J impact, which is ten times the national standard requirement, preventing damage to the battery pack from underbody scrapes.
