Recently, the real-life prototype of the Porsche Mission S concept car has been unveiled. The vehicle is set to make its official debut at 16:00 Beijing Time on October 16. The Mission S will be a key product in Porsche's Sportwagenschmiede 35 reinvention plan, showcasing the brand's passion for sports cars. Should the production go ahead, the price tag is expected to be significantly higher than that of the 911. The 917K Mission S concept car prototype evokes the 917K, in tribute to the race car. The body lines are reminiscent of a near-production-ready sports car, indicating a higher likelihood of the vehicle entering production. The entire body features a wide, low stance design, incorporating numerous aerodynamic components and low drag designs, such as the air ducts on the hood, side panels, a streamlined roof, a prominent rear spoiler, and rear diffuser designs, as well as twin exhausts. The overall appearance exudes a strong presence. Given the Mission S's mid-mounted engine configuration, one can see the rear cooling vents. The car will also feature Porsche's classic LED headlights, a single full-width taillight bar, and an electronic speedometer mimicking a traditional mechanical tachometer. It will offer both sport and track modes. Porsche's Sportwagenschmiede 35 plan centers on "quality over quantity," reducing reliance on sales figures and enhancing the value of each vehicle and overall profitability. This strategy aims to solidify Porsche's core position as a global top-tier sports car manufacturer. Launching a high-end flagship supercar is part of this strategy. Porsche plans to elevate the positioning of all its models, increasing the average price of premium models by 20%, and boosting the profit margins across the board. This is the reason behind the Mission S concept car's introduction.
