Xiao G is coming! Mercedes-Benz Xiaogu is expected to release the pure electric + hybrid off-road capability on July 13.
Recently, it was reported that the Mercedes-Benz G is expected to be released on July 13. The new car will no longer be manufactured in Germany and will be put into production at the Hungarian factory. Mass production will start in 2027. In order to match the production of this new model, Mercedes-Benz is investing in the expansion of the Hungarian factory, nearly doubling its annual production capacity from the existing size to 300,000-400,000 vehicles, and expanding the number of employees from 3,000 to about 7,500. In the future, the factory will also undertake the production tasks of various models such as electric C-class, GLB and fuel version A class. The core reason for Mercedes-Benz to choose the Hungarian factory for production is cost control. It is reported that the length of the small G is expected to be 4400mm, and the body height may be shorter than that of the EQS SUV. The design retains the classic design elements of the G-class. The Mercedes-Benz small G still uses the classic square box model design, and retains the classic clam front cover, round lights, external spare tires, rough bumpers, and other designs. In terms of power, Mercedes-Benz Xiaogu originally planned to launch only a pure electric version, but due to the cooling demand for electric vehicles, Mercedes-Benz adjusted its strategy and added a hybrid version. The pure electric model is equipped with an 85kWh battery, equipped with dual motors, an 800V architecture, and a WLTP endurance of 724km; the hybrid version is expected to follow CLA's 1.5T engine + motor combination, with a combined power of 188 horsepower. The Little G will have a similar off-road capability to the G-Class, and each wheel will have a separate drive force. (Compiled by Qin Chao, Automobile House).
