Recently, the first engineering prototype of the Robotaxi Eva Cab, jointly developed by Geely Auto and partners including CaoCao Mobility, has been rolled off the production line, marking the official entry of the project into the stage of real vehicle validation for mass production. Eva Cab was designed and engineered around the needs of autonomous taxi operations from the very beginning of its product development. It considers various aspects such as the whole-vehicle architecture, cabin experience, operational fulfillment, safety assurance, and the entire lifecycle of operations comprehensively. According to the plan, the CaoCao Mobility customised version of the Eva Cab will enter mass production in 2027. Introduction to Geely Eva Cab: Eva Cab marks a significant leap for Geely in the L4-level autonomous driving sector. In terms of core computing power and smart brain, the vehicle is equipped with a 196-billion-parameter StepFun Step3.5 large model and a high-end H9 solution with 1400 TOPS computing power. The large model's inference speed is 350 TPS, and its decision-making speed is three times faster than that of humans, enabling it to quickly process complex road information and make precise judgments and responses, covering 99% of daily travel scenarios. It can even handle complex scenarios such as autonomous passage through toll booths and "filling in" routes on unpaved rural roads with ease. The World Action Model (WAM) behind the vehicle upgrades the traditional "perception-decision" process into a closed-loop system with macroscopic planning and microscopic simulation capabilities, allowing the vehicle to think and judge like an experienced driver when facing unstructured roads or complex traffic games. In terms of perception hardware, the vehicle is equipped with 43 sensing elements, including LiDAR and high-definition cameras, forming a triple 360-degree all-around sensing network, capable of capturing surrounding environmental information in full detail and accurately identifying pedestrians, vehicles, and obstacles, effectively avoiding driving risks. Notably, the vehicle excels in handling complex scenarios, with a 95% success rate for multi-move U-turns, serving as a key indicator for measuring its human-like driving capabilities. In terms of design, the prototype car completely breaks away from the traditional cockpit layout, eliminating the steering wheel and traditional control components, and all spaces are dedicated to passenger comfort and interaction, maximizing system integration to enable a more ideal physical platform for L4-level autonomous driving. At the same time, the vehicle integrates Geely's AI digital chassis technology, with a reaction speed of only 4 milliseconds, 25 times faster than human limits, enabling it to automatically control and avoid hazards under extreme conditions, providing passengers with "proactive hazard avoidance, never losing control" safety guarantee. It is reported that the CaoCao Mobility customised version of the Eva Cab is scheduled for mass production and commercial operation in 2027, gradually bringing advanced unmanned driving technology to practical travel scenarios.
