BMW plans to exit the UKL platform in China, adjusting its strategy. This involves models like the BMW X1.
Recently, we learned that BMW will completely exit the UKL compact and mid-size vehicle segment in China, which is the largest regional product line adjustment launched by BMW specifically for the Chinese market.
This adjustment involves models such as the BMW X1 and 2 Series. Additionally, the high-performance versions of the X1 M35Li and M235L will also exit the Chinese market.
In retrospect, the UKL platform was first applied to the BMW 2 Series Touring in 2014, and subsequently expanded its product lineup to include the 1 Series sedan, 2 Series coupe, X1, and X2, all the while adhering to the "make more BMWs accessible" principle.
For reference, the current price range for the BMW X1 is 258,000-288,000 RMB, the BMW 2 Series is 208,000-228,000 RMB, the X1 M35Li is priced at 338,000 RMB, and the M235L is priced at 298,000 RMB.
