Tesla announces FSD global pending market list China has completed approval and launched on a small scale
Recently, Tesla unveiled the global approval progress of its fully autonomous driving (FSD) system and a complete list of countries and regions to be admitted at an industry conference, and this set of intelligent driving functions is accelerating to the global market. The data shows that more than 1.3 million Tesla vehicles have been equipped with FSD functions worldwide, and North America, some European and Asia-Pacific regions have taken the lead in landing. The list was disclosed by Tesla's artificial intelligence leader in the slides of his speech at the International Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR), which clearly delineated the current status and approval process of FSDs on various continents. FSD is now fully available in North America and is available to owners in the US, Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico. The South America region has become the next focus of Tesla's expansion, and the two major markets of Chile and Colombia are waiting for regulatory approval. Europe is the fastest growing region for FSD in the near term. Following the completion of approvals in the Netherlands, Estonia, and Lithuania, the multi-country approval process in Europe has entered a concentrated stage of progress. Based on the Dutch Vehicle Regulatory Authority's common regulatory standards, the EU and non-European member states have started the access process. More than 20 EU member states, such as Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Sweden, and non-EU countries, such as the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, and Ukraine, are on the waiting list for approval. The industry said that the overall regulatory interoperability in Europe is strong, and subsequent FSDs are expected to be implemented in batches in the region. The layout of the Middle East region has been accelerated, and Tesla has completed system adaptation and road testing for local high temperatures, desert road conditions, and special traffic environments. At present, Israel, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates have entered the approval process, and Bahrain is also regarded as a potential landing market. In the Asia-Pacific market, China has completed FSD approval and launched a small scale in advance. This feature was officially launched with version 13.0 last year, but it was initially open to only a small number of owners. Due to the impact of domestic data-related regulations, this feature has not been fully popularized in the future, and now this situation may be changing. According to Tesla's recently updated China owner's manual and official website, the FSD with the latest 14.0 version will soon be re-launched in China. According to the plan, Tesla aims to land in Japan by the end of 2026. In addition, Asian countries such as India, Malaysia, and Thailand are also in the approval sequence. The African market has also appeared in the FSD expansion for the first time, and Ethiopia is currently the only market in Africa to promote FSD approval. It is understood that Tesla has established professional verification teams around the world to continuously optimize the FSD system based on traffic rules and road characteristics in different regions. At this stage, the global multi-channel road testing work has been carried out steadily. With the completion of regulatory approvals in various countries, the pace of globalization of Tesla FSD will be further accelerated.
