Recently, BYD officially released the second pickup model of its brand in the Brazilian market. The new medium-sized plug-in hybrid pickup - Mako, which means gray mackerel shark, complements the shark pickup, and is a new energy pickup product customized for the Latin American market. The Brazilian market is expected to sell for 200,000-220,000 Brazilian reais (about 261,000-287,000 yuan). The new car will be listed in Brazil in September. The initial model will be exported by China, and localized production will be achieved in the future. According to the plan, BYD plans to launch five models of pickup trucks one after another, covering different levels and different positioning pickup market segments. BYD Mako is built on the same platform as Song Plus. The front of the car continues the classic design of the historical Song Plus model. The new car is equipped with a large size domineering front grille and a full air field. The rear of the car is equipped with a through-type led taillight, with an exclusive black body protection kit and 18-inch black alloy wheels. Standard trailer hook, suitable for light trailers, motor boats and other towing scenes. Parking radar and panoramic images are also available. In terms of interior, it is also easy to think of Song plus, equipped with a full LCD digital instrument and a 15.6-inch floating central control screen, equipped with BYD's latest DiLink 100 smart car system, and retaining physical control buttons in the central island platform. In terms of power, BYD Mako is equipped with a fifth-generation DM insertion and mixing system, consisting of a 1.5L naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine and a motor, with a 12.9kWh power battery pack, and the system has a comprehensive power of 166kW. In terms of transmission, it is equipped with a DHT automatic transmission and a front-facing front-drive layout, while BYD has planned a four-wheel drive version. It is noteworthy that the new car powertrain supports ethanol fuel, which is precisely adapted to the local mainstream energy usage habits in Brazil. Mako has a support body with McPherson style independent front suspension + multi-link independent rear suspension. For the core use scenarios of pickup trucks, BYD specially strengthened the vehicle spring and shock absorber structure to enhance the body carrying capacity. (Compiled by Qin Chao, Automobile House).
