Urban and high-speed pilotage has been available nationwide Mercedes CLA and other new round of OTA upgrades

On June 15, Mercedes-Benz officially announced a new round of OTA upgrades for models such as the Mercedes-Benz CLA. This update focuses on the two aspects of intelligent assisted driving and digital cockpit, bringing a total of 12 new functions and experience optimization, such as reinforcement learning large model boarding, piloted assisted driving system covering urban areas and high speeds across the country. It is reported that this upgrade is applicable to some Mercedes-Benz models with MB.OS version 1.1.4. Mercedes-Benz CLA intelligent assisted driving is the core upgrade direction of this OTA. Mercedes-Benz partnered with Momenta to complete the technology upgrade of the assisted driving system, and introduced a large reinforcement learning model to improve the processing capacity of the vehicle in high-frequency scenarios such as complex intersection traffic, sudden entrance of neighboring vehicles, and protection of vulnerable road participants by 5 to 10 times, and the decision logic is closer to that of senior drivers. At present, the urban area and high-speed pilot assisted driving function have achieved nationwide coverage. This capability is the first to land on the Mercedes-Benz pure electric CLA, and will gradually be installed in new models such as the new pure electric GLC. On the specific driving function, etc passage function has been added, and the system can identify the gate, channel type and passage status of the toll station in advance. In view of the complex road conditions and speed limit rules in China, the system provides a variety of speed adjustment modes. The "speed limit only" mode strictly follows the road speed limit, and the "environmental speed regulation" mode comprehensively judges dynamic speed regulation in combination with traffic flow and road conditions, taking into account traffic efficiency and driving safety. At the same time, the vehicle has added a static object avoidance function in the lane, which can predict roadside parking vehicles, construction fences and other obstacles in advance and smoothly avoid them. The emergency lane maintenance function in the state of human-computer sharing has also been optimized. When the system detects that the vehicle is at risk of deviation from the lane and lateral collision, it will take the initiative to correct the direction. Cruise and parking scenarios also usher in a number of useful upgrades. The vehicle has been added with no navigation traffic lights to start and stop, and no navigation automatic lane change function. Even if navigation is not turned on, the traffic lights can be recognized after the cruise assistance is turned on to complete the start and stop action. In the face of scenarios such as lane termination, construction occupying roads, or overtaking local vehicles, the system can also assist in completing smoother lane changes and reduce the frequency of manual intervention. In terms of parking, a parking direction selection function has been added. Users can choose to park left or right according to the on-site environment, adapting to different parking space scenarios. In addition, some driving and parking assistance functions have been added to the online training mechanism. Owners need to complete the corresponding learning in the Mercedes-Benz app to unlock the function. In addition to the driving aspect, Mercedes-Benz's OTA focuses on upgrading the AI digital cockpit system. The new virtual assistant "Xiaoben" is officially launched, which integrates natural language models, 3D graphics technology and anthropomorphic voice system, and is equipped with exclusive cartoon images and dynamic effects. In addition to the basic voice control and information query functions, "Xiaoben" can recognize user emotions and make interactive feedback. It can also link the lights, audio, air conditioning, seats and other hardware in the car to create a different cockpit atmosphere with one click according to voice commands. The car-machine system synchronously launches two new functions, "Atmosphere Style" and "Comfortable Space". Among them, "Atmosphere Style" provides a variety of aesthetic theme wallpapers, and links with the ambient lights in the car to enhance the overall visual immersion of the cockpit; "Comfort Space" can switch a variety of preset modes, and synchronously move a number of comfortable configurations throughout the car.
