From 2027, the Munich factory will only produce pure electric models, and more new generation platform models will be put into production in the future. In addition, the interior of the BMW i3 will be officially unveiled at the Chengdu Motor Show, which opens on August 21. The new BMW i3 Long Wheelbase Edition is scheduled to be officially put into production in China in January 2027. The first model is the BMW i3 40 Long Wheelbase Edition. The BMW i3 has a length, width and height of 4760/1865/1480mm and a wheelbase of 2897mm. It is equipped with a 31L front compartment and a 420L trunk. The paint will provide the Isle of Man green color matching. In addition, the vehicle will feature a new semi-hidden door handle exclusive to China, and the C-pillar provides a glowing M logo. In terms of power, the vehicle will use an 800V high-voltage platform architecture, equipped with a sixth-generation eDrive system, with a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 4.7 seconds. The battery capacity is 108kWh, the range of the first version is 906 kilometers, and the endurance of the ordinary model will be further improved, with a maximum endurance of 912 kilometers.
