On September 3, Xiaomi Motor announced on the 2026 International Consumer Electronics Show (IFA) Media Day in Berlin that it will officially enter the European market, including Germany, in 2027. On the same day, Xiaomi Motor signed a memorandum of cooperation (MoU) with the first eight German head car dealer groups at the exhibition site, taking the first step in building its retail and service network in the European market. The eight dealer groups signed this time are all car dealer groups with deep history and prestige in Germany and all over Europe, with decades of comprehensive experience and high-end brand operation expertise. This includes a number of veteran distributors of BBA and luxury brands such as Porsche, such as Lueg, the first authorized distributor in German history, Emil Frey, the largest distributor group in Europe, and SternPartner, a core distributor partner of Mercedes-Benz in northern Germany. Yu Liguo, vice president of Xiaomi Motors and head of the international business department, said that Xiaomi Motors is committed to long-term investment in Europe, relying on its European R&D center in Munich and its growing sales and service partner network to bring innovative products and first-class service experiences to European customers. Local cooperation is at the heart of this commitment. With the launch in 2027 approaching, Xiaomi will also expand its partnerships across Europe. Behind entering the European market is the rapid growth of Xiaomi in the Chinese market. Since the delivery of the first model in March 2024, Xiaomi Motor has delivered more than 700,000 units in mainland China: the Xiaomi SU7 series has exceeded 500,000 units in only 28.5 months; and the Xiaomi YU7 has locked more than 240,000 units in 18 hours. At the technical level, Xiaomi's track performance is its brand endorsement. In April 2025, the production version of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra equipped with a professional track suit set an official record of 7:04.957 in the "Electric Limousine" category of the Nürburgring North Circuit; the Xiaomi YU7 GT set the first official timekeeping record in the newly established "Autonomous Driving" category in New North, running 10:29.483 without a driver. In terms of product lineup, Xiaomi Automobile held a Kunlun technology conference in July this year to release the SkyNomad Xiaomi Pengcheng series products. With the positioning of "smart variable large space" to enter the extended range segment, the new car will be officially released on September 7. In order to warm up at sea, Xiaomi Motors has launched a global official website and official international social media channels in late August to communicate with global users in advance. At this IFA exhibition, Xiaomi showed the latest achievements such as the "whole ecology of people and cars" smart ecology and Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo, and the exhibition will be open to the public from September 4 to 8.
