On October 29, IM Motors confirmed that pre-orders have opened for the LS8 NEO, the pure-electric version of its mid-to-large SUV. Two variants are offered, with pre-sale benefit prices of RMB 249,800-269,800. Every version comes with a CATL battery and a full-wire-control Lingxi chassis, and the car also features the NEO Hurricane motor, Efficiency Master 3.0 and an all-domain thermal management system as part of its core three-electric technology package. The launch event confirmed that the car goes on sale officially on November 5. Outside, it matches the range-extender version and continues the family style, with a star-ring full-width light bar, a sealed grille and the brand logo on the leading edge of the bonnet for a strongly technical look. Dimensions are 5085/2000/1807mm with a 3060mm wheelbase. Along the side, flush door handles and multi-spoke wheels add a sense of refinement. At the rear, a full-width light bar gives the tail good visual depth. On driver assistance, and drawing on the range-extender version, the LS8 uses a 520-line ultra-wide-field LiDAR together with 11 high-definition cameras and multiple millimetre-wave and ultrasonic radars to build all-round perception. Its "smart gaze" function can precisely identify pedestrians, vehicles and obstacles in key areas ahead, improving safety. The car also carries NVIDIA's Thor chip with 700 TOPS of compute, paired with 64GB of LPDDR5X memory and 273GB/s of bandwidth - enough to run high-level autonomous driving algorithms and to leave headroom for future OTA upgrades. On the software side, it runs the IM AD ZETA end-to-end model co-developed with Momenta, enabling highway navigation assist (NOA), urban navigation assist (NOA) and all-scenario intelligent automatic parking. Inside, the car broadly follows the range-extender design and offers five- and six-seat layouts. It combines a 27.1-inch 5K MiniLED central screen, a 15.6-inch 3K passenger entertainment screen and a 21.5-inch 4K overhead screen for the second row, running a Qualcomm 8295P chip. All seats are wrapped in Nappa leather, and both front seats offer zero-gravity function with 4D mechanical massage. A 12.3L dual-door smart fridge cools between -6°C and 15°C and heats between 35°C and 50°C. Other equipment includes a Danish B&O premium audio system and Corbusier-style power lounge chairs. The full-wire-control Lingxi chassis is standard across the range, and the brand claims triple safety redundancy: dual-redundant steer-by-wire plus large-angle rear-wheel steering, and the world's first IM SynVector all-domain vector torque coordination, which responds in as little as 20 milliseconds. For power, the car has already been filed with MIIT. It uses a single-motor set-up with a maximum 300kW and 500Nm of peak torque, paired with a CATL ternary (NMC) battery available as a 93kWh high-efficiency pack or a 103kWh single-crystal pack. CLTC consumption is 15.2kWh/100km. We will keep following the car for more details. (Text by Autohome, Yue Changxing)
