2026 Paris Motor Show: Renault Trafic E-Tech and New Megane E-Tech Unveiled
October 12, the 2026 Paris Motor Show kicked off with the unveiling of the new Renault Megane E-Tech and the all-new Trafic E-Tech.
The new Megane E-Tech is based on Renault's exclusive CMF-EV electric platform, blending the compact sedan body with the fluid lines of a crossover SUV. Produced at Renault's home factory, it comes in two versions: Techno and Alpine Esprit, with the latter offering enhanced sportiness and further upgrades in comfort and smart features.
Visually, the vehicle features a closed grille design with brand identifiers, sharp and elongated LED headlights spanning the front, and an active air intake for aerodynamic optimization. The body is designed with a long wheelbase, featuring a sloping roofline, hidden door handles, and available 19-inch or 20-inch wheels.
The rear end features a full-width taillight, a three-dimensional layered rear bumper, and a diffuser design that reduces traditional exhaust structures for a stronger electric vehicle identification. The vehicle offers 11 paint colors, with the Alpine Esprit model featuring exclusive sport trim.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 4200mm in length, 1782mm in width, and 1522mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2685mm.
The interior is equipped with a 12-inch dual-screen setup, featuring the OpenR Link Google service, supporting features such as Google Maps, voice assistants, and a built-in app store for wireless CarPlay. Additionally, the vehicle introduces Google Gemini to enhance the smart interaction experience.
The Alpine Esprit model also includes features such as seat massage and Harman Kardon audio systems. The vehicle is equipped with 26 intelligent driving assistance features, including full-speed adaptive cruise control, lane centering, active emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, and automatic parking.
In terms of power, the vehicle is equipped with a single-motor electric powertrain, with a maximum power output of 160kW and a peak torque of 300N·m. The battery pack capacity is 67kWh, with a WLTP range of 500km and a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 7.6 seconds. Charging from 15% to 80% takes approximately 24 minutes.
At the 2026 Paris Motor Show, Renault also unveiled the all-new Trafic E-Tech, the first all-electric van in the Trafic series. The vehicle features a one-box body design and a super-short front overhang, with a "helmet mask" style front windscreen, a full-width light strip, and an illuminated Renault logo. The 3D 3D tail lights are designed for a harmonious look and low wind resistance.
The Trafic E-Tech is available in two lengths: L1 (4.87m) and L2 (5.27m, with an additional 40cm wheelbase), with a width of 1.92m and a height of 1.90m. It can easily enter city underground garages, with a turning radius of only 10.3m.
The cargo volume is 5.1m³ and 5.8m³, with a load capacity of 1.25 tons and towing capacity of 2 tons.
The interior features a horizontal dashboard design, equipped with a 10-inch full LCD instrument panel and a 12-inch central touchscreen, integrated into the OpenR Evo system and featuring the Google ecosystem. As Renault's first software-defined vehicle (SDV), the vehicle supports OTA remote continuous upgrades.
In terms of power, the entire range is equipped with rear-wheel drive single-motor, with a maximum power output of 150kW (204 horsepower). It is equipped with a 60kWh lithium iron phosphate battery (WLTP range of approximately 350km) and an 81kWh lithium cobalt oxide battery (WLTP maximum range of 450km). The 800V high-voltage architecture allows for a charging time of about 20 minutes (equivalent to 260km) and supports external power supply.
The Trafic E-Tech will begin production at Renault's Sandouville factory in 2026. (Source: Pin Yue Changxing ; Translation/Edited by AutoHome: Yue Changxing).
