All-New BYD Han Filing Images Revealed: EV and Plug-in Hybrid, Larger Than the Han L
Recently, we saw the new-generation BYD Han's application information in the latest batch of new vehicle announcement in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The vehicle was submitted by BYD Automotive Co., Ltd. This time, four models were shown – three pure electric and one plug-in hybrid. The pure electric part offers three power configurations: a rear-wheel drive version with 245kW, a rear-wheel drive version with 300kW, and a four-wheel drive version with 200kW+320kW. The plug-in hybrid version is equipped with a 1.5L engine and a 200kW drive motor.
In terms of body dimensions, the new vehicle is 5156/1969/1507mm long, wide, and high, respectively, with a wheelbase of 3030mm. Compared to the current Han, the new Han is longer and wider.
The dimensions are as follows: 5156mm long, 1969mm wide, and 3030mm wheelbase. The front/rear overhangs are 988/1138mm, front/rear track widths are 1695/1700mm, and the rated passenger capacity is 5 people.
In terms of height, the 245kW rear-wheel drive version and plug-in hybrid version both report a height of 1507mm, while the four-wheel drive version reports 1492mm.
In the optional configuration, the Han L was spotted in the pictures. Here are the vehicle types, dimensions (mm), wheelbase (mm), and current Han: Length 4995×Width 1910×Height 1495, wheelbase 2920mm; Han L: Length 5050×Width 1960×Height 1505, wheelbase 2970mm; New-generation Han (application): Length 5156×Width 1969×Height 1507, wheelbase 3030mm; Grand Han: Length 5256×Width 1999×Height 1510, wheelbase 3130mm.
In fact, the new vehicle's dimensions fall right in between the Han L and Grand Han – longer by a whole circle compared to the Han L, and shorter by 100mm compared to the Grand Han.
The pure electric part has three versions.
The entry-level version is a single-motor rear-wheel drive, with a drive motor model of TZ205QYS, a permanent synchronous motor, with peak power of 245kW, curb weight of 2005kg, total weight of 2455kg, top speed of 240km/h, and tire specifications of 245/50R18, 245/45R19.
The second version is also a single-motor rear-wheel drive, but the motor model is TZ205QYD, with peak power increased to 300kW, curb weight of 2125kg, total weight of 2575kg, top speed of 240km/h, and tire specifications of 245/45R19, 245/40R20.
The third version is a dual-motor four-wheel drive, with an asynchronous motor (model YS230XYG) on the front axle, peak power of 200kW; and a synchronous motor (model TZ210QYH) on the rear axle, peak power of 320kW, with the combined peak power of 520kW.
The curb weight of this version is 2351kg, total weight is 2801kg, top speed is increased to 270km/h, and tire specifications are 245/40R20, 245/45R19.
The plug-in hybrid version is equipped with a BYD472ZQB 1.5L engine, displacement of 1498ml, maximum power of 115kW (maximum net power of 110kW), and a drive motor model TZ210XYD, synchronous motor, peak power of 200kW.
The curb weight of the entire vehicle is 2115kg, total weight is 2565kg, top speed is 200km/h, and tire specifications are available in 245/50R18, 245/45R19, 245/40R20.
The battery of all four models is BYD's own lithium iron phosphate battery, with different production bases for single cells and battery packs: the single cells of the 245kW rear-wheel drive version come from Hefei BYD Industrial Co., Ltd., and the battery packs come from Xiangyang Fudi Battery Co., Ltd.; the battery packs of the 300kW rear-wheel drive version come from Shanwei Fudi Battery Co., Ltd.; the battery packs of the four-wheel drive version come from Xi'an Fudi Battery Co., Ltd.; the single cells of the plug-in hybrid version come from Taizhou Fudi Battery Co., Ltd., and the battery packs come from Xiangyang Fudi Battery Co., Ltd.
The drive motors are supplied by multiple enterprises within the BYD system – the 245kW and 300kW rear-wheel drive motors come from Xi'an BYD Automotive Parts Co., Ltd., and the plug-in hybrid motor comes from Shenzhen BYD Automotive Co., Ltd.; the front motors of the four-wheel drive version come from Dongguan Fudi Power Co., Ltd., and the rear motors come from Zhengzhou BYD Automotive Co., Ltd.
In addition, the most noteworthy item in the optional configuration list is the LiDAR-related items: the optional LiDAR is listed for the plug-in hybrid version and the 245kW rear-wheel drive pure electric version, which is an add-on item; and for the 300kW rear-wheel drive version and the four-wheel drive version, there are no LiDAR-related items in the optional configuration list, which is likely a standard item, but it is still best to wait for the official announcement.
