Leapmotor’s 10th Anniversary “Coming of Age”
This year marks Leapmotor’s 10th anniversary and a strategic turning point.Over the past decade, Leapmotor has targeted the market with its A, B, and C series, with main models concentrated in the 100,000–200,000 RMB segment, earning labels such as “half-price alternative” and “budget substitute”.
In the next decade, Leapmotor aims to transform from a “new energy startup” into a “world-class automaker” with annual sales of 4 million units. The launch of the D19 makes this milestone even more significant.
As the first model based on the LEAP 4.0 architecture, the D19 represents the culmination of Leapmotor’s decade-long in-house R&D across all domains. It will help the brand establish a presence in the 250,000 RMB+ market and achieve a critical step upward.
Notably, Leapmotor delivered nearly 600,000 vehicles in 2025, hitting a new high and achieving full-year profitability for the first time. After successfully securing its survival, whether Leapmotor can quickly shift into “accelerating” and “scaling up” mode and hit its 2026 target of 1 million annual sales depends largely on the strengths of the D19.

Editor’s Comments
Leapmotor long ago planned a four-series product lineup: A, B, C, and D.After the successful C-series, the B and A-series brought accessible technology, allowing 100,000-level models to feature premium equipment such as LiDAR.
However, moving upmarket has long been a challenge for Chinese brands, which is why the Leapmotor D19 has attracted intense attention. With pricing now official, we look forward to its market performance and hope the upcoming D99 will arrive soon to offer more choices and realize flagship-level equality for consumers.
