The exterior and interior have been revised, and the car is available with petrol and hybrid powertrains. It is positioned as a mid-size SUV.

At the front, the nose and headlight clusters have been reworked, with smaller lamps and the grille merging with the headlights into a single graphic. A three-part daytime running light is integrated into the grille, bringing the car closer to the family look.
The front bumper has been restructured: the vents at each side are now vertical rather than horizontal, the shape is simplified, and a silver trim strip has been added below the central cooling opening.
Dimensions are 5011/1961/1773mm with a 2950mm wheelbase, 11mm longer than before. The side profile is largely unchanged, with a choice of body-coloured or contrasting roof, and the door handles remain fully flush. Wheels come in 19-, 20- and 21-inch sizes.
The tail lights have been restyled but keep the full-width layout, with lettering set into the centre and simplified, smaller light clusters at each end. The recessed number-plate housing in the tailgate has moved down to the rear bumper, paired with a full-width silver chrome strip.
Two new colours join the range, Zodiac Gold and Nebula Blue, alongside the existing Starry Black, Bright Moon White and Sky Grey.
Inside, the design broadly carries over, but the dashboard, door panels and centre armrest are now wrapped in large areas of soft material with satin-finish metal trim, and the air vents are no longer a full-width item.
The seats use a new diamond quilting with gradient perforation, trimmed in Menorca eco-suede microfibre. The cabin pairs a 12.3-inch instrument cluster with a 27-inch ultra-wide 4K display, a 12-speaker B&O hi-fi system and the 8155 chip as standard, supporting ERNIE Bot plus DeepSeek, CarPlay and in-car karaoke without a microphone. There is also three-zone climate control and a 1.26-square-metre panoramic roof.
The car uses a 2+2+3 seven-seat layout with new seat shapes and materials, 10mm thicker foam in the backrests and dual floating second-row captain's chairs with legrests, 190mm of rail travel, a one-tap near-zero-gravity mode, one-tap cruise reset for easy access and a one-tap executive mode that maximises second-row space, plus heating and ventilation.
Depending on how the rear is configured, boot capacity is 309L, 969L or 2,876L.
For power, the petrol version uses a 2.0T engine with 252hp (185kW) and 378Nm, mated to an eight-speed automatic. The hybrid uses a fifth-generation 2.0T EcoBoost hybrid engine with 275hp (202kW) and 405Nm, plus a motor rated at 140kW and 320Nm. It accelerates from 0-100km/h in 7.1 seconds, returns a WLTC minimum 6.43L/100km with a depleted battery and covers 1,188km on a tank. The intelligent electronically controlled mechanical all-wheel-drive system can switch in milliseconds and split torque between the axles from 0 to 100%.
Editor's note: the new Edge L evolves the exterior and interior comprehensively, upgrading both intelligence and comfort. Ford's Co-Pilot360 driver-assistance system is standard, supporting ACC full-speed adaptive cruise and ESA emergency steering assist, and the choice of petrol or hybrid powertrains delivers both stronger performance and more economical running.
