Domestic oil prices may rise again on May 8th, ushering in the 7th cumulative increase in 2026
Recently, a new round of refined oil price adjustment window will open at 24:00 on May 8. The agency predicts that the price of gasoline and diesel will be raised by 340 yuan/ton and 330 yuan/ton respectively, and the discount price of No. 92 gasoline, No. 95 gasoline and No. 0 diesel will be increased by 0.27 yuan, 0.29 yuan and 0.28 yuan respectively. Taking the Beijing area as an example, the current price of No. 92 gasoline is 8.46 yuan/liter, which is 8.73 yuan/liter after the price adjustment. Entering 2026, the domestic refined oil retail price adjustment window has opened 8 rounds of price adjustment windows, including 6 rounds of upward adjustment windows, 1 round of downward adjustment window, and 1 round of price adjustment window stranded. Cumulatively, there were 7 rounds of oil price changes, and No. 92 gasoline rose by RMB 0.07/L, RMB 0.16/L, RMB 0.14/L, RMB 0.55/L, RMB 0.87/L, and RMB 0.33/L, respectively, with a decrease of RMB 0.44/L. The price of international crude oil futures fell more than 11% on May 6, and then rebounded significantly. On the 6th, the price of light crude oil futures delivered by the New York Mercantile Exchange in June fell by $13.61 to $88.66 per barrel, a decrease of 13.3%; the price of London Brent crude oil futures delivered in July fell by $13.12 to $96.75 per barrel, a decrease of 11.94%. At the close of the day, light crude oil futures delivered by the New York Mercantile Exchange in June closed at $95.08 per barrel, narrowing to 7.03%; London Brent crude oil futures delivered in July closed at $101.27 per barrel, narrowing to 7.83%.
