2026 Paris Motor Show: Mercedes-Benz All-New GLA and AMG CLA Make Production Debut!
At the 2026 Paris Motor Show, the Mercedes-Benz all-new GLA and the AMG CLA models were unveiled with their real-life cars.
The all-new GLA is based on the MMA platform and is positioned as a compact SUV. It will offer three powertrains: electric, plug-in hybrid, and mild hybrid. The pure electric version will go on sale ahead of the autumn, while the hybrid version will debut in spring 2027.
The AMG CLA is a performance version of the all-new CLA, featuring a tri-motor powertrain with maximum power exceeding 500 horsepower.
For the all-new GLA, the exterior features a new family design, with the grille resembling the electric GLC, paying homage to the retro shield grille. The central logo is a large Mercedes emblem, with the three-pointed star elements integrated into the headlamps. The front fender sides feature familiar air intakes.
The all-new GLA's side profile is smooth, with the roofline gradually descending from the A-pillar to give it a coupé SUV stance. The vehicle is equipped with large-diameter wheels, featuring a dual-tone multi-spoke design. The wheel arches and sill panels are adorned with black trim, adding more off-road appeal.
The tail lights will adopt the three-pointed star design, complemented by rear bumper styling resembling a diffuser. This creates a more sporty appearance, with a rear spoiler on the roof, and will significantly improve the vehicle's aerodynamics.
In terms of the interior, the all-new GLA will feature the MBUX hyper-connected screen system, comprising a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and two 14-inch center display screens arranged horizontally across the cabin.
The interior design is characterized by a more minimalist and fashionable style, thanks to the latest Mercedes steering wheel design.
From the rear camera images, the rear seats offer a mainstream compact SUV space, with rear air vents, phone charging ports, and rear center armrests all available.
In terms of powertrain, the pure electric version replaces the previous EQA model. The rear-wheel drive version has a maximum power of 200kW, while the four-wheel drive version has a maximum power of 260kW. It is equipped with an 85kWh battery pack, offering a maximum range of 779km. The vehicle is equipped with an 800V high-voltage electrical architecture, supporting ultra-fast charging.
A performance-oriented pure electric version from the AMG line is also planned, with a maximum power output of up to 500kW.
In addition to the pure electric version, the plug-in hybrid version will feature a 1.5T turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor. The mild hybrid version will offer a 1.5T engine paired with a 48V electric motor. The front-wheel drive version is expected to have 160 horsepower, while the four-wheel drive version will have 190 horsepower.
For the AMG CLA, the front fascia features the AMG family's sporty surround, paired with star emblem headlights, with more exaggerated air intakes on the sides to enhance cooling and aerodynamic performance.
The side profile will feature sporty side skirts and lightweight sport wheels, with visible large-diameter performance brake systems, significantly improving the braking performance.
From the rear camera images, the car will be equipped with an electric rear spoiler. The tail light housing will feature a three-pointed star brake light design, with a diffuser-style rear bumper, all of which revolve around the sport theme.
Due to the use of an electric powertrain, the vehicle will be equipped with a front storage compartment, as seen in the rear camera images, which has a moderate capacity, with a well-organized storage space, suggesting that a carry-on suitcase could fit comfortably.
In terms of the interior, the AMG CLA will continue to use the standard CLA design, with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and two 14-inch center display screens arranged horizontally.
The interior design is characterized by a more minimalist and fashionable style, thanks to the latest Mercedes steering wheel design.
From the rear camera images, the rear seats feature a storage box in the center seat cushion, with a foldable backrest, indicating that this area is intended for functional use, without providing seating for passengers.
In terms of powertrain, the AMG CLA will feature a tri-motor system with a system output exceeding 500 horsepower, paired with a high-performance four-wheel drive system, expected to significantly outperform the standard model.
