Dreams! Let you drive the "Dakar Rally" to the streets? Official map of Dakar for Land Rover Defenders.
Recently, the official map of Land Rover Defender Dakar was released. It can be regarded as the legal civilian version of the 2026 Dakar Rally production group champion Land Rover D7X-R racing car. This hard-core SUV born from professional events not only inherits the championship racing structure completely, but also unlocks stronger power parameters. It will be more powerful than the Octa version of the Defender. It will debut in Monterey Automobile Week for the first time, bringing the hard-core strength of professional rally events directly into the civilian market. Interest registration is now open for new cars, and the booking gateway will officially open in early 2027. In terms of appearance, Land Rover Defender Dakar highly reproduces the fighting posture of the D7X-R champion racing car. The body is equipped with a riveted wide wheel arch, roof racing spotlight, high carbon fiber air intake, carbon fiber engine cover, professional mudguard and full cover chassis guard, which enhances off-road protection and visual impact in all directions. The exclusive Dakar desert yellow and green bicolor bodywork is a direct tribute to the winning car. The new car has a wider body span and higher ground clearance than the average Guardian, equipped with 20-inch forged rims + 35-inch all-terrain off-road tires, with exclusive coil springs and Brighton event-class shock absorbers. In terms of interior, the car adopts a 2 +2 four-seater layout, standard customized professional racing seats, supports optional four-point racing seat belts, and reserves helmet storage space to restore the cockpit atmosphere of the event in all directions. The trunk is equipped with a dedicated spare tire fixing bracket and an air pump installation interface, which completely eliminates the embarrassment of bursting anchors on off-road roads. In terms of power, the new car uses the body structure, transmission system, four-wheel drive architecture and core powertrain of the D7X-R racing car. It is equipped with the same 4.4T twin-turbo V8 engine as BMW. Under the restrictions of the race rules, the maximum power of the racing version is only locked at 400 horsepower; the civil version of the race seal is lifted, the power directly soars to 635 horsepower, and the peak torque reaches 750 Nm. This power level not only surpasses the champion racing car in all aspects, but also reduces the horsepower to 540 horsepower Octa compared to the current model, and also reclaims the brand's strongest power throne. At the same time, the vehicle is equipped with a dedicated terrain mode system, which provides two professional off-road modes, desert and gravel, and is also equipped with a flight mode derived from the race car, which is specially adapted for extreme driving scenarios such as high-speed off-road and airborne landing.
